Keleketla! Library and In Place of War (UK) together with the British Council Connect ZA are bringing Coldcut, UK’s most irrepressible musical mavericks and founders of the label Ninja Tune to South Africa. Keleketla! and Mushroom Hour Half Hour are staging a recording studio at Trackside Creative, Soweto to incubate Coldcut composition workshops with local musicians. It’s a week long process and the idea is to cut a record, an audio compilation of original music to be released later in the year.

We plan to stream segments of the recording process live to engage outside audiences and also public performances for those who can attend.
